Tottenham refuse to sell to Chelsea and Manchester United back out of deal – has Danny Rose’s exit plan backfired?
Danny Rose may not be leaving Tottenham Hotspur this summer after all, with the two most likely clubs to sign him beginning to look like increasingly unrealistic prospects.
Chelsea are ready to almost double Rose’s current £65,000-a-week wages to £120,000-a-week if he leaves for Stamford Bridge, but according to the Evening Standard, Spurs are refusing to negotiate with their West London rivals.

That leaves Manchester United, who are believed to be Rose’s first choice, but the Daily Star claims they have now distanced themselves from the deal as Tottenham hold firm on their stance that the England international is not for sale.
If the 27-year-old had hoped that his interview with the Sun, in which he criticised the North London club’s transfer policy and wage structure, would earn him a lucrative move away like his friend and fellow full-back Kyle Walker, then it seems to have backfired.
For Rose, who is currently injured and watched on as Mauricio Pochettino’s men opened the new Premier League season with a 2-0 win at Newcastle United in which the defender’s deputy, Ben Davies, scored, his options seem to be running out.
While it may take some time for the fans to forgive him, the Englishman may have to mend his relationship with Pochettino, his teammates and the club and try and rediscover the form at Spurs that saw him named in the PFA team of the year for the past two campaigns.
