Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi has become a wanted man this season, but interested clubs may find it difficult to sign him any time soon.

Muriqi, 25, left Caykur Rizespor over the summer for a move to Fenerbahce, getting his big transfer having notched 17 goals and eight assists last season.

The Kosovo striker has made a strong start to the season with three goals in seven games for Fenerbahce, continuing to thrive over in Turkey.

Tottenham have been watching Muriqi on a number of occasions this season, with Sabah reporting last month that they had scouted him in action for Kosovo against the Czech Republic.

Now, Aksam report that Tottenham will again scout Muriqi tonight as Kosovo take on Montenegro, with Atletico Madrid and Lazio also watching the powerhouse target man.

Yet whilst Tottenham may be planning to watch Muriqi tonight, the striker himself appears to have some ideas of his own, and they don’t involve leaving Fenerbahce.

Muriqi is quoted by Aksam as saying that he wants to stay for two more years with Fenerbahce, as he needs to iron out issues in his game before heading to a big European club in 2021 as a proven quality striker, meaning Spurs may need to look elsewhere if they’re not prepared to wait for him.

“I will stay at least two more years in Fenerbahce,” said Muriqi. “I still have deficiencies. I want to go to Europe as a class striker,” he added.
