Tottenham Hotspur youngster Anthony Georgiou has travelled to Cyprus for the clash with APOEL Nicosia.

Tottenham Hotspur take on APOEL Nicosia in the Champions League this evening – and West London Sport report that Anthony Georgiou has been included in the squad that has travelled to Cyprus.
Spurs head back into European action tonight having beaten West Ham United 3-2 on Saturday afternoon, and Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping to build on a strong start to the Champions League.
Two weeks ago, Spurs beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at Wembley to kickstart their Champions League campaign, and Pochettino’s men must now follow that up with a win over APOEL, the relative minnows of a group also containing Real Madrid.

However, Spurs are almost down to the bare bones, as Pochettino is without Danny Rose, Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela, as well as the now-ill Christian Eriksen, whilst Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli are both suspended.
Whilst those six absentees are major misses for Spurs, a young player could step up, with West London Sport reporting that Anthony Georgiou has travelled with the Spurs squad to Cyprus for tonight’s game.
Georgiou, 20, has come up through the ranks with Spurs, and whilst the youngster – who can play on the left wing or at left wing back – impressed in pre-season with his pace and energy, he has yet to make his first-team debut for Spurs.

That could now come tonight if Tottenham are struggling for bodies, and it would be be all the more special for Georgiou given that the game will be in Cyprus, a country he can represent at international level.
Georgiou was born in England but qualifies to play for Cyprus as his grandparents hail from Gypsou and Kyrenia respectively, meaning a first-team debut in a country so close to his heart could be a huge moment in his career.
