Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has been lauded by Matthijs de Ligt months after the Ajax man was linked with Spurs.

It is not clear whether Spurs continue to monitor De Ligt’s situation, but the youngster has probably given Tottenham fans reason to start urging Daniel Levy to make a move by lauding Sanchez, who played alongside the Dutchman before moving to the Premier League in 2017.
“He’s really nice, but when he goes on the pitch he’s like an animal,” he told FourFourTwo.

“Off the pitch, he’s humble and quiet – a little shy. Then he gets on the pitch and it’s like, ‘Whoa, what is going on here?’”
It would be fantastic if Tottenham did decide to reignite their interest in the starlet and tried to reunite him with Sanchez. Neither player may yet be the finished article, but they are clearly going to enjoy incredibly bright futures – and Spurs would put themselves in a fantastic position if they could put the pairing together to succeed the likes of Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld in the coming years.
It would be a big surprise if Spurs were not keeping De Ligt on their radar. He is a brilliant prospect and already boasts a lot of experience for club and country. The asking price appears to be steep, but the amount that Ajax are going to demand for De Ligt is surely only going to rise rapidly as his development continues.
