Tottenham’s players are not back in training until next month, when pre-season gets underway.

They still don’t know who their manager will be, as Daniel Levy rifles through the options to replace Jose Mourinho.

Whoever is is, Dele Alli will hope the new boss is more of a fan of his than Mourinho was.

Dele found himself out of favour under the Portuguese, while Ryan Mason gave him more opportunities while he was in interim charge.

Dele has started his pre-season preparations early, doing some extra work to be ready for the new campaign.

He posted some photos of himself on Instagram, working hard at the NAS Sports Complex in Dubai.

Gareth Bale couldn’t string a run of games together for Spurs but has played three times in eight days for Wales at Euro 2020.

Dele’s stock has fallen so far that he’s not even there with England and has clearly wasted no time in getting to work to change that state of affairs.

Alli still has a huge future in the game ahead of him if he can get back into the Spurs side.

The new manager will surely be looking at him as a hugely talented player with a point to prove.

Many Spurs fans will hope their manager favours a more attacking outlook than Mourinho and Dele could be vital if that’s the case.

It seems his attitude is bang on and he’s focused on making a success of the 2021/22 season.
