Tottenham Hotspur are adamant that Christopher Vivell is not in contention to become the club’s new sporting director.
Former Chelsea man Christopher Vivell watched Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool but a move to North London isn’t expected.
That is according to The Telegraph’s Matt Law, who reports that Vivell was in the stands to watch Tottenham take on Liverpool.
Vivell became Chelsea technical director in December 2022, having previously served in a similar role with RB Leipzig.
However, Vivell’s time at Chelsea came to an end in the summer as the Blues placed him on gardening leave just seven months after his arrival.

It’s now stated that Vivell was in attendance to watch Tottenham beat Liverpool 2-1 on Saturday evening.
That will have set tongues wagging given that Tottenham are searching for a new sporting director.
However, Law claims that Tottenham sources are insisting that Vivell is not in contention for that job.
Spurs seem pretty adamant that Saturday’s visit was not a pre-cursor to a move to North London, meaning the German was seemingly just taking in a game as he plots his next move.
Vivell being on gardening leave complicates matters a little and Tottenham may feel that other candidates make more sense for them.
Tottenham closing in on new appointment
Tottenham are making changes to their recruitment process.
Former director of football Fabio Paratici has gone and chief scout Leonardo Gabbanini left the club earlier this month.
The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports that Tottenham are now expected to make a ‘low-key’ appointment very soon.
Ornstein didn’t disclose a name but believes the new man will be somewhat similar in reputation to boss Ange Postecoglou.
Vivell doesn’t really fit the bill in that regard as landing a former Chelsea and RB Leipzig man would be a big move, so we can’t see him heading to Tottenham any time soon.
