The Barcelona ace, linked with the Gunners, is getting little game time at Camp Nou, but Spurs should mull over making a move for him themselves.

Tottenham Hotspur have had some issues in midfield this season, with both Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama having been absent at various points during the 2018-19 campaign.
Eric Dier has also found himself on the sidelines due to appendicitis and isn’t expected back for some weeks, according to Transfermarkt.
As a result, Spurs should consider looking for reinforcements this January, with such results as the 3-1 loss to Wolverhampton Wanderers suggesting that some bolstering within the ranks wouldn’t go amiss.
One option that could be considered is one which their bitter rivals Arsenal are said to be chasing up in Barcelona’s Denis Suarez, with BBC Sport suggesting the 24-year-old is being sought after as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey.
Given Tottenham’s impressive campaign so far, the imminent move to a brand new state of the art stadium and a highly rated manager in Mauricio Pochettino, there is scope for the Lilywhites to not only strengthen their ranks but also deal a blow to the Gunners with his acquisition.

Suarez is getting very little game time at Camp Nou at present, with just six appearances in all competitions under his belt (Transfermarkt), and hinted that he was open to a move away following his brace against Cultural Leonesa last month, as quoted by the Daily Star.
The BBC article linking Suarez to Arsenal also suggests that Barca might be open to a loan move for their player, which means Spurs could get themselves a great worker in the middle of the park on a relatively low budget, adding strength in depth to their engine room and depriving the Gunners of a coveted player.
