Tottenham Hotspur have scouted Nottingham Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White as the consider a potential reunion with Brennan Johnson.

Tottenham raided Nottingham Forest on transfer deadline day in September, striking a deal for speedy forward Brennan Johnson.

We are now starting to see the Welshman really get going in North London, bagging three assists in his last seven appearances.

Johnson is only 22 and Tottenham will hope that the best is yet to come – especially if they reunite him with a former teammate…

Tottenham Hotspur scouted Morgan Gibbs-White on Saturday

The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham had a scout in attendance to watch Forest playmaker Morgan Gibbs-White in action against Manchester United on Saturday.

Spurs may well have been impressed as Gibbs-White scored a superb goal to give Forest a 2-1 victory at the City Ground.

Gibbs-White is an enormous talent and whilst a January deal seems unlikely, he may become a prime target for the summer window.

Forest struck a deal worth up to £42.5million to sign Gibbs-White from Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2022 and would surely demand a hefty price tag now.

Tottenham relied heavily on James Maddison’s creativity earlier in the season and find another attacking midfield player could become a priority.

Hailed as ‘brilliant’ by former Forest and Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas, Gibbs-White certainly fits the bill as a homegrown player and his connection with former teammate Johnson will appeal to Spurs.

Gibbs-White and Johnson struck up a close friendship at Forest and the playmaker suggested in December that Johnson leaving for Tottenham was a ‘blow’.

Forest hero Gary Birtles even claimed in November that Gibbs-White has been missing Johnson at the City Ground.

A reunion may appeal to Gibbs-White but Tottenham will have to dig deep to sign him in 2024 with Forest surely in no mood to sell.
