Tottenham Hotspur are looking for homegrown signings this year.

Tottenham Hotspur made just one signing in 2018, and it remains to be seen whether they dip into the market for a new signing this month.
Spurs do have some holes to plug in their squad, and the London Evening Standard claim that Mauricio Pochettino wants a centre back and a holding midfielder.
However, it’s noted that Spurs are specifically looking for homegrown players, with Tottenham in need of young English players for squad requirements.
Yet options in those positions are somewhat thin, especially now West Ham have tied down Declan Rice to a new contract at the London Stadium.
Another West Ham talent may be an option though, as Reece Oxford’s future at the club is bleak, with Arsenal and Everton both linked with a move.
Oxford has really faded off the radar since his 2015 breakthrough with West Ham, and needs a fresh start to really kickstart his career and fulfil his potential elsewhere having failed to feature under Manuel Pellegrini.

At just 20, Oxford still has his best years ahead of him, and Tottenham – who already had Oxford on their books a long time ago – should at least look into a bargain swoop for Oxford.
His ability to play at centre back and in holding midfield is really appealing, and whilst he may not be a hugely exciting signing, Pochettino could salvage him in North London.
Pochettino has got the most out of unheralded signings like Paulo Gazzaniga, Kieran Trippier and Ben Davies, with Oxford certainly worth a gamble on that basis, given that there are few homegrown options in those positions that make sense for Spurs.
