Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Bordeaux’s Malcom.

The January transfer window is in full swing, and it seems that North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are poised to go head-to-head over the same target this month.
The Daily Mail report that, with Arsenal potentially poised to lose contract rebel Alexis Sanchez this month, the Gunners are eyeing up potential replacements, with Bordeaux’s Malcom their latest target.
With seven goals and four assists in 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season, Malcom has taken French football by storm this season, and he is attracting major interest of the back of his displays.
The same report notes that Tottenham hold a ‘serious’ interest in signing Malcom having been monitoring his displays for Bordeaux in recent months.
The 20-year-old Brazilian now looks set to spark a transfer war this month, and if Tottenham are legitimately ‘serious’ about signing Malcom, then they cannot afford to let him join their bitter rivals.
Mauricio Pochettino has long been linked with impact players in the final third who can create chances and conjure magic, with the likes of Riyad Mahrez and Wilfried Zaha both mentioned.
Malcom is another player who fits that bill; not only does he possess outstanding skill and flair, but also speed to add a new dimension to Tottenham’s often one-paced attack.
Whilst Pochettino does already had Son Heung-min and Erik Lamela in addition to Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli, adding Malcom would provide another spark in the final third – and managing to beat Arsenal to his signature would be a major win for Tottenham, so if the Gunners firm up their interest, Spurs must respond.
