Tottenham Hotspur are now ready to move for Gent forward Gift Orban out of fear that another club will pounce for him soon.
Gift Orban is becoming a top target for Tottenham Hotspur in the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
That is according to Football London’s Alasdair Gold, who has been speaking on YouTube about all things Tottenham.
Gold suggests that there is a ‘real realisation’ inside Tottenham that they need to go for Orban right now.
Gold acknowledges that Orban is raw and may not be completely Premier League-ready but his potential is huge.
That means Tottenham believe other clubs could move in to buy Orban and back his potential.
Spurs don’t want to miss out and the expectation is that they will launch a move for Orban before the summer transfer deadline.
Rather than go for a top striker to replace Harry Kane, Tottenham may instead go for a prospect in Orban and hope to develop him into a superstar.
“Gift Orban, we know they like… he’s 21 years old, he can play through the middle, he can play out wide, he can play as a supporting striker, he’s very, very talented and prolific already,” said Gold. “Obviously it’s the Belgian league and you’ve got to kind of have a little bit of calm over that. Certainly, there’s people that cover the Belgian league who have told me ‘he’s very, very good but very raw, maybe isn’t ready to be a regular starter in the Premier League but certainly would be able to make an impact’, so maybe hold fire on that ever so slightly, in terms of him being an absolute sensation.”
“I would imagine that Spurs will look to try to do something with him, I think there’s a real realisation that, if they don’t maybe do this now, then others are going to get in there and get him straight away,” he added.

Who is Tottenham Hotspur target Gift Orban?
Orban has been on a quite incredible rise of late.
The 21-year-old was with Bison FC in his native Nigeria before a successful trial spell with Norwegian side Stabaek.
Orban smashed 19 goals in 24 games for Stabaek to earn himself a big move to Belgium with Gent in January of this year.
The goals have continued to flow; Orban has now hit 25 goals in 26 games for Gent, proving to be a goalscoring sensation.

Orban even hit a hat-trick inside four minutes against Istanbul Basaksehir in last season’s Europa Conference League, announcing himself as a star.
Orban still has plenty of developing to do; he has only played 50 games as a professional player in Europe, which is fairly low for a 21-year-old in the modern game.
Still, Orban has racked up 44 goals in that time and the indications are that he is destined for stardom.
Tottenham clearly realise that and are now planning to move for Orban in the coming weeks having lost star striker Kane to Bayern Munich.
