Celtic should be looking to charge a huge fee for Kieran Tierney.

Celtic have enjoyed a fine start to the season, having won each of their domestic games whilst also returning to the Champions League group stage.
Having beaten Astana 8-4 on aggregate after a dramatic and nervy second leg, Celtic are again in the group stage of Europe’s premier club competition, and have been handed a tough group alongside Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Anderlecht.
Another major boost for Celtic has come with the fact that they have managed to keep of key players such as Moussa Dembele and Kieran Tierney, despite strong links to Premier League clubs.

Left back Tierney, 20, has been particularly impressive over the last two years having become Celtic’s top left back, and the Daily Record reported last week that Tottenham Hotspur have been eyeing him as a potential replacement for Danny Rose, either now or in the future.
Tottenham also eyed up another left back in Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, as The Telegraph claim that Spurs failed with a £25million bid for the teenager – and Celtic should take a similar stance to the Cottagers if Spurs do come calling for the Scotland international.
Having seen Virgil van Dijk emerge as one of the world’s top centre backs since joining Southampton in 2015, Celtic may feel that they were a little short-changed by receiving just £13million (BBC Sport) for the Dutchman, but they can learn their lesson with their stance on Tierney.

Tierney and Sessegnon are two of the top young left backs in Europe right now, and Tierney has the added benefit of being able to play as a wing back or a left-sided centre back, whilst Sessegnon has only played in the Championship, compared to Tierney who has Champions League experience under his belt.
Celtic are under no pressure to sell Tierney right now considering their dominance in Scotland and their return to the Champions League, so seeing Fulham reject £25million for Sessegnon should allow Celtic to set the market for Tierney.
As one of the top young talents to emerge in Scottish football in recent years, Tierney’s value should reflect that – and after selling Van Dijk for around a fifth of what he is now worth, it’s time for Celtic to demand a huge fee for Tierney if Tottenham or any other Premier League clubs want to sign him.
