Spurs player ratings: Kane world class, Rose a surprise star, Chadli superb

Tottenham Hotspur sent shockwaves through the Premier League by beating Chelsea 5-3. Here’s how their players rated…

Hugo Lloris – 7.5/10

Made a key save in the second half to prevent a Cesar Azpilicueta shot that could have changed the game at 4-2.

Kyle Walker – 6.5/10

Far from solid defensively but shone going forward.

Jan Vertonghen – 6/10

Could have done better for the goals and was outshone by Fazio a little once more.

Federico Fazio – 6.5/10

Did better than Vertonghen but no defender can come away looking good when they have been sloppy enough to concede three goals.

Danny Rose – 7/10

Made mistakes defensively as ever but proved a point going forward and was a surprise star for Tottenham against Chelsea.

Ryan Mason – came off injured very early

Nabil Bentaleb – 6/10

Gave the ball away occasionally and certainly wasn’t one of Spurs’ best performers.

Mousa Dembele – 6.5/10

Covered for Mason better than Benjamin Stambouli did against Burnley recently.

Nacer Chadli – 9/10

The Belgian produced a stunning display against Chelsea, scoring and terrorising the Blues’ defence. Won as many dribbles and created as many chances as any other Tottenham player.

Andros Townsend – 6/10

Didn’t particularly shine but did score a first-half penalty – a clever touch from boss Mauricio Pochettino to have Townsend take it.

Christian Eriksen – 8/10

Instrumental with his running, passing and chance creation as ever.

Harry Kane – 9/10

An almost-perfect display from the Spurs striker – who will almost certainly become an England striker in the near future. Scored twice and was central to some of Tottenham’s other goals.

Substitutes

Paulinho – 6/10

Replaced Townsend in the second half and was lucky not to have been sent off for a high-footed challenge.

Ben Davies also replaced Rose late on.
