According to Bild, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Daichi Kamada from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Japanese midfielder has been proving his quality in the Bundesliga for many years now. He’s an incredibly talented attacking midfielder who would certainly add a new dimension to this Spurs squad.

However, he’s perhaps best known in this country for a performance he put in against Arsenal back in 2019.

Indeed, Kamada scored two fantastic goals against the Gunners in 2019 to eliminate the north London outfit from the Europa League, and while you may expect Arsenal fans to have some sort of ill-will towards the midfielder for knocking them out of Europe, Gunners supporters actually took a shine to Kamada after the game.

Why? Well, the Frankfurt ace’s goals were the final nail in the coffin for Unai Emery’s Arsenal career, and at that time, the Gunners’ fanbase were more than happy to see Emery depart.

After the game, Arsenal fans on social media actually thanked Kamada for getting Emery sacked, while his Wikipedia page was edited to dub him the ‘liberator of Arsenal’.

Kamada, in a weird way, is a bit of a cult hero for Arsenal in certain circles, so it’s interesting to hear that he may now be signing for Tottenham.

The attacking midfielder proved to be the ultimate thorn in Emery’s side back in 2019, but if he joins Tottenham, he may well prove to be a nemesis of Mikel Arteta too.

Kamada may be a hero in the eyes of some Arsenal fans for his work towards ousting Emery, but he could quickly become a zero if he ends up heading to Spurs.
