Speculation about the Tottenham Hotspur manager’s role has gone into overdrive in wake of their Champions League elimination.
According to The Athletic, Spurs have compiled a shortlist of candidates to replace Antonio Conte as their next head coach.
The feeling at Tottenham is that Conte’s departure from N17 is now “inevitable”.
As such, the Spurs hierarchy is looking at replacements.
One of the likely candidates, according to the report, is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Oliver Glasner.
The likes of Luis Enrique, Ruben Amorim and Luciano Spalletti are apparently also likely to be on the shortlist.

Glasner began his coaching career in 2014 at Austrian outfit SV Ried, where he played for most of his career.
The 48-year-old then spent four years at LASK before linking up with Germany’s Wolfsburg in 2019.
Glasner then joined Frankfurt in May 2021, helping them win the Europa League in his first season at the club.
The Austrian currently prefers a 3-4-2-1 formation, similar to what Conte uses now.
This would mean a transition from Conte to Glasner should be fairly seamless, in theory.
At Wolfsburg, Glasner played 4-2-3-1, which has been compared to Mauricio Pochettino’s style in 2018-19.
Former colleague Thomas Gebauer told News in Germany: “He has a clear idea of how he wants to play football.
“He doesn’t just run a training session, he demands in every session that every player gets better.
“And he’s very good at coaching in matches, he has the gift of everything to recognize. He strives for perfection.”
All in all, a decent shout for Tottenham.
