Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is satisfied Mauricio Pochettino’s English is good enough for him to be in the running to take over from Tim Sherwood according to reports.
The Mail on Sunday claims Levy was concerned after the Southampton manager used a translator for post-match interviews. But it is reported that the Argentine uses the translator more due to convenience and he can speak enough English to communicate effectively with his players.
Pochettino is the latest name to be linked with the Spurs job after Louis van Gaal and Frank de Boer appear to be out of reach for Levy…although only time will tell.
In other news, the Mirror claims Tottenham are willing to sell Andros Townsend this summer as they overhaul their squad.
Townsend began this season in scintillating form and earned an England call-up as a result. But injury has curtailed his campaign and the report claims Spurs could use him in a swap-deal to bring Adam Lallana in from St Mary’s.
That is certainly a move that would gain credibility if Pochettino was to arrive in London from the south coast.
