Ryan Mason has taken to Instagram to express his pleasure at being back in training with Tottenham Hotspur today.

Mason has been out with injury since the turn of the year with a hamstring injury, but he is close to making a comeback and appeared delighted to be back with his teammates this morning.

Spurs were training ahead of their League Cup semi-final clash with Sheffield United, which takes place tomorrow evening and Mason will desperate to be involved in the match.

The 23-year-old was given his first chance of action this season in the competition, when he came off the substitutes’ bench to make a great impact against Nottingham Forest, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Mason is now one of Tottenham’s most integral performers and his return to the side is a massive boost for the squad.

Despite their good form, Spurs have missed the all-action midfielder’s energy and he is likely to be nursed back to fitness by Mauricio Pochettino, who will not want to take any chances with such a key player.
