Tottenham Hotspur managerial target Roberto De Zerbi has been described as “the find of the season”.
Dion Dublin, speaking on Premier League Productions, said the 43-year-old has been truly “brilliant” this term.
Tottenham have been linked with the Brighton & Hove Albion boss over the past few weeks.
A month ago, The Telegraph reported that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy was eyeing the Italian manager.
And earlier in April, Alasdair Gold claimed that Tottenham had reached out to De Zerbi’s camp about a move.
Brighton are on course for their most successful ever season in the top flight.
They currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, seven points behind the top four.
In addition, they have only played 29 games, with most of the teams above them having played 30 or 31.
Dublin, conversing with Tim Sherwood on Premier League Productions, lauded the Tottenham target.
“The players are loving the way he is playing,” said the former striker.
“Brighton have been great, they’ve been one of the teams to watch.
“They play football, they defend together, attack together, they’re doing great.
“The manager, I have to say, the find of the season, he’s the find of the season, brilliant.”
‘He’s magical’
De Zerbi has worked wonders at the Amex Stadium since taking over from Graham Potter in September.
He has continued his predecessor’s good work and looks set for a record high Premier League finish with his club.
De Zerbi has quickly won everyone at Brighton over, with one player singing his praises especially highly.
Yasin Ayari told Aftonbladet: “He’s magical. The world’s best coach.
“Everything works. When it comes to tactics, I’ve never seen anyone like him in my entire life.
“I am someone who studies football a lot. Many coaches I have studied.
“He is one of those who when it comes to the small details, he cannot be compared with others.”
At the same time, De Zerbi might be a tricky appointment for Spurs to pull off.
If he gets Brighton into the Champions League, he’ll surely want at least one more season to show what he can do.
