Tottenham Hotspur will be proud of one of their loanees on Wednesday night.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is officially a league champion after being crowned a Scottish Premiership winner with Celtic last night.

The Hoops have known for some weeks that they were going to win the title, with the on-loan Tottenham powerhouse playing a massive role in their success under Ange Postecoglou.

The 24-year-old reacted to the triumph on Instagram afterwards, posting a one-word caption – ‘Champions’ – along with a team photo.

Carter-Vickers going back to Tottenham?

In a word, no.

Well, the hefty USA international, labelled a ‘beast’ by Jan Vertonghen once upon a time, will be returning to Hotspur Way this summer at some point, but only for formalities.

There’s no way that the big centre-back is going to be playing for Tottenham’s senior outfit next season under Antonio Conte.

Lilywhites chairman Daniel Levy reportedly wants £10 million for the club’s academy graduate and that, in the scheme of things, might be a bargain.

Remember, Carter-Vickers was leaving Spurs on a Bosman this time last year, before Levy extended his contract.

So to salvage an eight-figure windfall from an asset who was, at one point, leaving for free highlights Levy’s acumen in matters like this.
