Tottenham Hotspur youngster Cameron Carter-Vickers is currently plying his trade in the Championship.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has told The Sun’s Goals pullout (13/4; page 8) that he is keen to play in the Premier League, and suggested that he feels that he has done everything asked of him by Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino before he left Spurs on loan in the summer.
Carter-Vickers has arguably become something of a forgotten man amongst the fans of his parent club. His last appearances from Tottenham came in the 2016/17 campaign and he is still awaiting his top flight debut.
The centre-back has spent the last two seasons on loan in the Championship, joining Swansea City last summer after previous spells with Sheffield United and Ipswich Town.
Unfortunately for the USA international, he has not found it easy to hold down a spot in Graham Potter’s side, making 18 league starts as well as seven appearances from the bench. Nevertheless, when asked about his future, Carter-Vickers seemed to be optimistic that he can make the grade with his parent club.

“I’d like to play at the highest possible level and we will see what happens in the summer. Pochettino told me to come here, enjoy myself and try to improve. I think I’ve done that,” he told The Sun.
With questions being asked about Toby Alderweireld’s future, there may well be an opportunity for Spurs’ other centre-backs to try and prove a point to Pochettino during the summer.
However, perhaps it would be fair to say that Carter-Vickers has a lot of work to do to prove that he should be included in his plans for next season. He has struggled to prove himself at the Liberty Stadium, and that perhaps does not bode well for his chances of forcing his way into the Spurs boss’ thinking once he returns from South Wales.
