Paris Saint-Germian were beaten by Guingamp on Wednesday night.

Paris Saint-Germain suffered a huge shock on Wednesday night as they were beaten by Guingamp in the French League Cup quarter-finals.
PSG went into the game with a 43-game unbeaten run in domestic cup competitions, and a game against Ligue 1’s bottom side Guingamp seemed to be a relatively safe passage into the semi-finals.
However, PSG flopped at the Parc des Princes, and could have gone behind when Thomas Meunier tripped Ludovic Blas for a penalty, only for Marcus Thuram to balloon his spot kick over.
PSG profited immediately as Meunier atoned for his error, driving down the right flank before crossing for Neymar to head the opener – but there was a major twist in the tale.
Guingamp earned another penalty when Juan Bernat brought down Marcus Coco, and Yeni Ngbakoto – formerly of QPR – stepped up to do what Thuram couldn’t in scoring from the spot.
There was another twist in the tale as Guingamp earned a third penalty in injury time, with Thuram brought down by Thilo Kehrer, and despite missing earlier in the game, Thuram stepped up to beat Alphonse Areola and win the game.

PSG’s defeat has shocked many, and fans have been taking to Twitter to criticise certain players for their part in the loss, with right back Meunier heavily criticised.
The Belgian international – who could be offered in a swap deal to Tottenham in exchange for Toby Alderweireld according to The Telegraph – was slammed for his display, with some suggesting that he and Bernat were like the Chuckle Brothers in the PSG defence, adding that he looked like he was running through mud.
