Tottenham Hotspur have been wonderful to watch this season.
Spurs legend David Howells sat down for an exclusive interview with the club’s official website, and shared his admiration for the manner in which his former club stick to their principles, regardless of what situation they find themselves in.
Tottenham have been excellent this season on the most part, and currently sit in fourth spot in the Premier League table, although they have a game in hand on third placed Liverpool.
They have not lost a league game since December, and Mauricio Pochettino deserves great credit for maintaining his side’s focus after what could have been a season damaging defeat to Juventus in the Champions League last month.
The Lilywhites have earned great praise for their high-octane style of play this season, and there is a genuine feeling emanating from the club that they are on the verge of achieving something special.
Howells, who made 335 appearances for Tottenham, spoke exclusively to the club’s official website about his former side’s win over Chelsea, and shared what he loves most about Pochettino’s team:
“I love the way this team sticks to its principles. It wasn’t going for us in the first half but we kept trying to do the right things, kept trying to do what the manager believes in and we never duck away from that. We kept trying to play. We did that at Liverpool as well. We don’t turn away from what we believe in and we’re good enough to do it.”
Next up for Spurs is a trip to Stoke on Saturday, and nothing less than a win will do, as they look to stamp their authority down on the race for the top four.
