David Brooks would surely favour a move to Tottenham Hotspur over Everton.

The Sun reported this past weekend that Tottenham Hotspur had spoken to Sheffield United about signing one-time Everton target David Brooks, amid talk of a £10 million swoop.
Everton were heavily linked with the 20-year-old last summer but surely Tottenham are big favourites to sign the 20-year-old attacker.
The Toffees’ interest can be traced back to Ronald Koeman’s stint at Goodison Park, but Steve Walsh is the man who oversees transfer activity on Merseyside and he remains Director of Football.

With that in mind, it wouldn’t have been a major shock had Everton reignited an interest this summer, but Walsh is unlikely to stand a chance so long as Spurs are in the mix.
Joining the North London club is a much more attractive proposition for a prospect like Brooks; not solely because Tottenham are a team going places, but because Mauricio Pochettino is a manager who backs young talent and Sam Allardyce, evident by Ademola Lookman’s situation, isn’t.

The Sun claim that the Lilywhites view Brooks as “a long-term replacement for Harry Kane” and the fact that Pochettino isn’t flush with quality back-up for the 24-year-old suggests that he wouldn’t be a million miles from the senior squad if he were to join Tottenham.
For now, it looks like Everton missed their shot with Brooks.
