Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Alasdair Gold has been discussing the status of some of Tottenham’s loan players.
Spurs have a number of talented players out on loan at the moment from Destiny Udogie to Dane Scarlett, and Gold was discussing the idea of Spurs recalling some of the players who are temporarily away from the club.
The journalist noted that it’s unlikely that any youngsters will be recalled, but he did mention that there is the possibility for Giovani Lo Celso being recalled and sold to another club with Gold stating that Spurs do have a clause available to them should they receive an offer for the Argentine.

Lo Celso’s spell could be cut short
Gold spoke about Lo Celso.
“I would say one more. He’s not a young player but Giovani Lo Celso. Spurs have that clause in there, if they were to get an offer from another club, so that’s a potential one to watch. I guess that comes to finances then, but Lo Celso would have to agree to it, so if he wants to stay at Villarreal it’s up to him,” Gold said.
Would make sense
Lo Celso has enjoyed his time at Villarreal, but a move elsewhere in January may make sense.
Unai Emery is no longer at the club and he was a huge part in Lo Celso’s rebirth in La Liga.
This is a player that Spurs will want off their wage bill permanently, and given that he’s been shining for the Yellow Submarine over the past 12 months, there may be a few suitors out there.
The Argentine could well be on the move in January.
