Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly made contact to sign a certain Aaron Ramsey.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Spurs have touched base with Juventus in regards to bringing the Wales international to North London.
Quite a few Tottenham fans wouldn’t be hugely for this, in light of the fact that Ramsey spent 11 years at their North London rivals Arsenal and is, you know, something of a legend for the Gunners.
But Lilywhites’ supporters might have a change of heart in the knowledge that the 30-year-old has been vouched for by Gareth Bale.
Bale and Ramsey are team-mates at international level and back in 2016, the Tottenham loanee said this about the attacking midfielder, via The Times:
“We have spent many years as part of this set-up and Aaron is one of the best I have played with. He has so much ability and is one of the very best midfielders. He has relished the chance to play in a major tournament, and he has shown it.”
And Bale is right – Ramsey is a brilliant midifelder.
We’re talking about a player who scored the winning goal in two FA Cup finals and netted 40 Premier League goals overall during his time in North London.
And with the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Winks potentially leaving Tottenham, maybe, just maybe, the Welshman would be a strong replacement, even if he is 30.
