Kevin Campbell has stated that Tottenham have ‘nowhere to go’ if Arsenal were to finish above them in the race for Champions League football.
The former striker pointed out that this Arsenal team is ‘the youngest team in the league’, whereas Spurs have ‘more experience’ – and ‘imagine’ the Gunners finishing above them.
Only a couple of a weeks ago, Mikel Arteta‘s side were one win away – against Tottenham – and a Premier League top-four finish was theirs.
But, heading into the final game of the 2021/22 Premier League season, it’s Spurs who only need a point at already-relegated Norwich to secure fourth.
Campbell spoke about the inevitable happening on Sunday and dismissed claims tactics were involved in Arsenal losing that all-important match north London derby number of weeks ago.
“Just imagine, the youngest team in the league finish above them,” said Campbell.
“Where do Spurs go? Where would Conte go? They have nowhere to go after that. Nowhere. The youngsters are only going to get better. Tottenham’s squad is so much more experienced than ours.
“I am hearing people talk about tactics at Spurs, nonsense! Nonsense about tactics! We started the game better than them. We got a tough decision that was a penalty against us, which I think was very dubious.
“But, at the end of the day, our players, Holding, he panicked.”

HAS EXPERIENCE PLAYED A ROLE IN TOTTENHAM V ARSENAL BATTLE?
There’s no doubt that Tottenham have more experience within their squad than Arsenal, but has that played a key part in Spurs all-but securing fourth?
To put it simply, Arsenal have properly shot themselves in the foot because whilst the ‘Spursy’ tag gets thrown at their north London rivals, they have showcased those bad traits themselves.
Granit Xhaka recently dismissed any claims about their recent capitulation being down to them being young, so if it has played a part, it’s much smaller than people perhaps think.
