The Cherries skipper injured his ACL during the Boxing Day game at Spurs and is set for up to nine months on the sidelines.
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to wish Bournemouth captain Simon Francis a speedy recovery after he suffered in the recent Premier League loss at Spurs.
The 33-year-old ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the Boxing Day fixture at Wembley Stadium, which Mauricio Pochettino’s side won 5-0.
Francis had to be carried off on a stretcher after sustaining the injury as he attempted to battle Son Heung-min for possession not long before half time in the game.
On Friday, the Cherries confirmed on their official website that the defender would miss between six and nine months due to the injury.
The news is a second huge blow in quick succession for Bournemouth, who earlier this month saw midfielder Lewis Cook sidelined for up to nine months due to an ACL injury.

Bournemouth are currently 12th in the Premier League table with 26 points from 19 matches and will face Manchester United away in their next game.
