Tottenham Hotspur have announced that the second test event match at their new stadium will be an exhibition clash between a Spurs Legends side and Inter Forever, the legends side of Serie A club Inter Milan.

In order to achieve a formal safety certificate for fixtures to be held at the new stadium, the club is required to hold two test event matches with increasing levels of attendances, the first involving a Tottenham Under-18 match against their Southampton counterparts on Sunday 24 March.

The second, which is set to boast a capacity of approximately 45,000, is scheduled for Saturday 30 March with a 5:30pm kickoff and will see some of Tottenham’s heroes from yesteryear take against a vintage Nerazzuri side.

Inter Forever have participated in exhibition games across Europe since 2011 against the likes of their Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich counterparts, and have previously fielded the likes of Mauricio Pochettino’s former Argentina teammate Javier Zanetti.

After the announcement was made on Twitter, some Tottenham fans responded, with two particular players – Rafael van der Vaart (featured in the article link image) and Nicola Berti – appearing well sought after for the occasion:

Spurs had planned to play Bayern Munich Legends in a test event last autumn before the game was cancelled when the stadium encountered delays.
