Pat Nevin has claimed that Tottenham fans were ‘not impressed’ with Tanguy Ndombele in the FA Cup on Sunday, as he told BBC Sport.
The BBC pundit claimed that the Spurs fans were ‘right on his back’, as Ndombele was booed by the home supporters when he was subbed off.
Ndombele started for Tottenham during their 3-1 FA Cup win against Morecambe.
But, at the time of Ndombele’s substitution, Spurs were still 1-0 down and the fans voiced their displeasure towards their player.
Whilst some felt that the player was being booed for walking off ‘slowly’, Nevin shared that the boos were being heard well before that.
“It wasn’t because he was going slowly off,” said Nevin. “He was getting booed before that.
“As soon as his number came up, the Spurs fans were right on his back. They are not impressed.”
That’s probably the end of the road for Ndombele in north London and Daniel Levy will now regret spending a club-record fee on the player.
Not only did the Frenchman produce a pretty poor performance against a League One side, but it was also the manner in which he reacted to going off.
Antonio Conte was throwing on the senior players in order to avoid a cup upset and Ndombele was walking off like Spurs were winning 5-0.
All in all, if he is one of the players still at Tottenham next season then it will be a surprise because that’s Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho, Nuno Espirito Santo and now Conte were things are going wrong for Ndombele.
