Tottenham Hotspur youngster Kyle Walker-Peters helped England’s under-21 side to two victories.

Italy U21 v England U21 : International friendly match

Kyle Walker-Peters has taken to Twitter to express his delight at helping England’s under-21 side claim two victories during this international break, while many Spurs fans responded by willing the youngster to kick on upon his return to Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Walker-Peters started both games as England beat Italy 2-1 last Thursday before dismantling Denmark 5-1 on Tuesday. After playing the full clash against the Italians, the Tottenham youngster then played 71 minutes in their most recent fixture.

He now has 10 caps for Aidy Boothroyd’s men, which is, perhaps surprisingly, also the number of appearances that he has made for Spurs’ senior side.

But it is clear that many Tottenham fans hope that soon changes.

Walker-Peters is unfortunate in that he has two players in front of him in the pecking order who are of the highest quality in Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier. The 21-year-old has been extremely impressive on a number of occasions when he has been given a chance, already collecting a couple of Man of the Match awards.

And after impressing while on international duty, a number of Spurs fans have responded to Walker-Peters’ latest tweet by insisting that they hope to see the academy graduate given more opportunities and eventually establish himself as the club’s first-choice at right-back.
