Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League campaign is already in real trouble after a shocking 7-2 home defeat to Bayern Munich last night.
After throwing away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 at Olympiacos in their last Champions League clash, Spurs needed a big result against Bayern – and got off to a great start with Son Heung-min scoring the opener.
However, Serge Gnabry scored four and Robert Lewandowski helped himself to a brace in a thumping Bayern win, with Joshua Kimmich grabbing the other goal.
Tottenham have just one point and a -5 goal difference after two games, meaning Mauricio Pochettino needs to find a way to turn things around quickly.
Elsewhere, Atletico Madrid beat Lokomotiv Moscow 2-0, and that prompted ex-Spurs right back Kieran Trippier to take to Instagram in order to celebrate.
Trippier didn’t actually play, as Santiago Arias played 90 minutes at right back for Atleti, but that didn’t stop Englishman Trippier from celebrating a ‘great victory’ in Russia.
Tottenham only sold Trippier this past summer, but with massive issues at right back, a whole host of Spurs fans took the opportunity to reply to Trippier’s post begging him to come back.
