An interview with the Cardiff boss about whether his Spurs counterpart should consider Manchester United hasn’t gone down too well with some fans.

Mauricio Pochettino has been a resounding success at Tottenham Hotspur since his arrival from Southampton in 2014, turning a side that seldom claimed a top-four Premier League finish into one that sealed a top-three spot for three seasons in a row and is now a bona fide contender for the title.

The Argentine’s exploits at Spurs haven’t gone unnoticed, however, and for every one pleased to see him do such a good job in north London, there will undoubtedly be 99 fans of opposition teams wanting the coach for their own club.

One club that has been linked with Pochettino (The Telegraph) is Manchester United, who recently sacked Jose Mourinho and brought in OIe Gunnar Solskjaer on “loan” from Norwegian club Molde only until the end of the season, which means a permanent successor to the so-called “Special One” is still being sought.

Now, it’s worth remembering that some Spurs fans haven’t exactly seen eye to eye with Sky Sports, with some examples of differences in opinion over the past few weeks including Son Heung-min’s goal against Chelsea not being originally named as a candidate for goal of the weekend by the outlet’s Twitter feed and criticism of their commentators during the win at Everton.

On Friday, Sky Sports News published an article headlined “Mauricio Pochettino must forget Tottenham loyalty if deciding over Man Utd move, says Neil Warnock”, an exclusive interview with the Cardiff City manager regarding his thoughts on whether the Tottenham boss should consider a switch to Old Trafford.

In this story, the Bluebirds boss spoke about both sides of the argument, saying how a manager has to “do what is right” for themselves and admitting “you don’t get that opportunity very often” to manage a club like Man Utd, but also saying “the grass is not always greener”.

The article was not very well received by some of the Spurs fanbase, who shared their thoughts on Twitter:
