Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are in stitches over what Roy Keane has said about Manchester City defender Kyle Walker.

Keane returned to his role as Sky Sports pundit for City’s visit of Premier League champions Liverpool this evening.

And the iconic midfielder didn’t mince words when asked about the former Tottenham right-back.

Walker, who joined City from Spurs in 2017, conceded a penalty inside 13 minutes at the Etihad for fouling Liverpool winger Sadio Mane.

Television replays indicated that it was avoidable from a Manchester City perspective.

Keane said: “He [Mane] is up against an idiot. Kyle Walker, people tell me he’s playing well, I don’t think so. He’s 30, an international player, he’s a car crash, keeps making these types of mistake, and rightly punished for it.”

The England international incurred the wrath of Tottenham fans by deciding to leave North London for Pep Guardiola’s side three years ago.

And suffice to say that Lilywhites supporters certainly saw the funny side of the Irishman’s tirade.

To be fair, Walker, who has won two Premier League titles, is certainly not an idiot, nor has he been playing particularly poorly under Guardiola this season.

But the penalty concession was a bit sloppy from the Tottenham star, a bit silly, and he will know that he can do better – especially when he hears about what Keane said about him.
