Tottenham Hotspur lost 1-0 to Manchester United on Sunday evening, and things may get even worse with a couple of injury worries.

Spurs fell to a Marcus Rashford winner, and then saw both Moussa Sissoko and Harry Kane suffer injuries, with the latter obviously the most concerning.

Kane went down holding his ankle late in the game and was attended to by a physio at full time, with major concern that he has once again suffered ankle ligament damage.

Spurs have to wait until the swelling on Kane’s ankle subsides before performing a scan, and Spurs fans will be fearing the worst over their star striker.

The concern is heightened by a lack of options. Son Heung-min would usually be Mauricio Pochettino’s go-to, but he’s heading off to the Asia Cup whilst Fernando Llorente remains a fringe player.

That has led some to wonder whether Vincent Janssen could be back in the fold, as he recently returned from injury to play for Tottenham’s Under-23’s – and scored against West Ham on Sunday.

However, when asked on Sunday, Pochettino quickly shot down any questions about the Dutchman, suggesting that the 2016 signing from AZ Alkmaar is not in his plans at all.

Fans have been taking to Twitter to react to those comments, calling Pochettino ‘brutal’ and ‘cold-blooded’ for his statement about Janssen, with some questioning what has gone so wrong in their relationship that Pochettino would be so reluctant to play an international striker in a time of need.
