Tottenham Hotspur are being linked with a move for Adam Lallana of Liverpool.
The 32-year-old playmaker is in the final weeks of his six-year Liverpool career as his contract comes to a close.
And according to The Mirror, Tottenham are among those in the race to sign the England international.
It was reported by The Standard that Spurs might have to rely on loan signings or free transfers for the summer ahead, as a knock-on effect to the lost revenue due to the global health crisis.
Lallana has been a decent servant for the Reds since joining in a £25 million move from Southampton in 2014.
Here’s how fans of the North London club reacted to the prospect of signing him for free.
If you told Tottenham fans last year, after losing a Champions League final, that they’d be signing Lallana 12 months later then you could probably forgive them for being a bit underwhelmed.
The Lilywhites, who are eighth in the Premier League, have gone backwards since that night in Madrid, sacking manager Mauricio Pochettino and seeing their club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele struggle.
And if we’re honest, bringing in Lallana would be another sign of going backwards.
