Ex-Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio is though to the Champions League semi-finals with Roma.

Roma completed the unthinkable on Tuesday night, beating Barcelona 3-0 at the Stadio Olimpico to advance into the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Having lost the first leg at the Camp Nou 4-1, Roma needed a 3-0 win to go through on away goals – and they got exactly what they needed.
Edin Dzeko handed Roma an early lead, and after Daniele De Rossi added a second from the penalty spot, Kostas Manolas swooped to head home a third, sending Roma into the last four.
The Italians could face Liverpool in the semi-finals, with Juventus, Real Madrid, Sevilla or Bayern Munich still potential opponents too as Eusebio Di Francesco’s side performed the ultimate comeback to book their place in the semi-finals.

One of the key players in the Roma side was centre back Federico Fazio, with the Argentinian playing a starring role in Di Francesco’s back three by helping his side keep a clean sheet against the likes of Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.
Many will remember Fazio from his time with Tottenham Hotspur, having joined the club from Sevilla back in 2014, but he was moved on after just 32 appearances after failing to impress manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Spurs fans are unsurprisingly stunned that one of their former flops is now in the semi-finals of the Champions League having kept Messi and co at bay with an ‘incredible’ performance, with others joking that he should be lined up for a return to the club as Toby Alderweireld’s replacement this summer.
