Tottenham Hotspur have today confirmed that defender Davinson Sanchez has signed a new deal with the club, tying his future with Spurs until 2024.

Spurs secured another top four finish as they ended their Premier League campaign with a 5-4 win over Leicester City on Sunday, and it promises to be a huge summer for the club.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men are not only heading into the Champions League again, but with a move to their new stadium on the horizon, fans want to see new signings arrive.

Keeping hold of their current stars is also key, and whilst question marks hang over the futures of Toby Alderweireld, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele, Spurs sealed the future of defender Sanchez today.

The 21-year-old only joined Spurs from Ajax last summer, but formed a superb partnership with Jan Vertonghen in the heart of defence, and looks set to become a star in the coming years.

Colombian international Sanchez has now been handed a new six-year contract, handing Spurs a talented player to build their defence around for the foreseeable future.

Tottenham fans were understandably delighted to see Sanchez commit his future to the club, but they also called for more deals, including a move for Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, who played alongside Sanchez in Amsterdam.

Others want to see Alderweireld and Christian Eriksen sign new contracts next, believing that more deals are close having also secured a new contract for Kyle Walker-Peters on Monday.
