Tottenham Hotspur won away at Molineux, but only after giving themselves a scare in the latter stages.

While Juan Foyth may have given away the two penalties that made life a lot more difficult for Spurs at Molineux than it should have been, it was Kieran Trippier’s display that was slammed by the supporters after the game.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side picked up the three points against Wolves after storming into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Erik Lamela, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane.
But the newly-promoted side set up an incredibly tense finish as Foyth twice forced Mike Dean to point to the spot in the final 22 minutes. It was the Argentinian that may have conceded the penalty, but Trippier is taking a lot of flak for putting the centre-back in the position where he had to make the challenge the first time around.
The right-back tried to nutmeg Leo Bonatini near the corner and that led to Wolves winning possession back and getting into the penalty box before Foyth’s challenge.

For many Spurs fans, that moment appears to be another indicator of why Trippier should not be Pochettino’s first choice option at right-back.
It was the 28-year-old – who cost Spurs £3.5 million in 2015, as reported by the Guardian – who provided the brilliant cross that allowed Lucas to double Tottenham’s lead on the half-hour mark. But many seem to feel that he is not good enough defensively. It was also his error that allowed Manchester City to score their decisive goal on Monday night.

Plenty want to see Serge Aurier or Kyle Walker-Peters given a chance, while one fan even suggested that they want to see Trippier sold at some stage in the future.
Here is what some of the Tottenham fans made of Trippier’s display against Wolves…
