Tottenham have sent Cameron Carter-Vickers out on loan to Sheffield United.
Tottenham Hotspur have today confirmed that defender Cameron Carter-Vickers has left the club on loan, joining Championship side Sheffield United for the season.
Spurs have mostly attempted to develop their young players in-house under Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentinian appears to be changing his stance on loaning out his top youngsters.
Joshua Onomah has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan deal, and Spurs have decided that it’s time for defender Cameron Carter-Vickers to go out and play first-team football.

Carter-Vickers, 19, has come up through the ranks with Tottenham having signed at the age of just 11, and he has long been touted for a bright future in North London.
The centre back, who has made 29 appearances for the United States across various youth levels, has played just four first-team games for Tottenham, and Pochettino has now chosen to send him out on loan.
Championship side Sheffield United are the beneficiaries of that decision, as the Blades have landed Carter-Vickers on a season-long loan deal, with manager Chris Wilder boosting his defensive options.
Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react to the deal, with some now question whether Carter-Vickers will ever make the grade with Spurs, with others giving him a little more time to come good, just as Harry Kane did after initially looking unconvincing.
Some fans even believe that Carter-Vickers’ departure means that, even after landing Davinson Sanchez from Ajax on Wednesday, another defender could be on the way, with many expecting Estudiantes ace Juan Foyth to sign imminently.
