Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to sign Bournemouth youngster David Brooks.

Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports emerging from the Daily Mirror over the weekend suggesting that Spurs are planning a £50 million bid for Bournemouth’s David Brooks in the summer.

Brooks has been a superb signing for the Cherries, scoring six goals and providing four assists in the Premier League. His form has reportedly led to some discontent amongst the Spurs backroom team.

According to the Mirror, the Tottenham scouting department had questions after the club decided not to make a move for the Wales international while he was regularly stealing the show at Sheffield United.

But it appears that the club are ready to rectify that mistake. The Mirror reported that Spurs are plotting an eight-figure move for the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Understandably, given that Spurs have not made any first-team signings since January 2018, there are plenty of supporters on social media who are sceptical about the chances of a deal taking place – especially given the fee being mentioned.

However, there is a lot of support for a potential bid. Brooks is clearly a huge talent, and arguably has the potential to be an inspired signing under Mauricio Pochettino. One fan even suggested that he could be the next Dele Alli if he did arrive in the summer.
