Tottenham Hotspur’s run of games without a win in all competitions has extended to five after drawing 1-1 at home to Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

Since the international break, Tottenham had drawn twice in the Premier League, once in the Champions League and lost to Liverpool in the EFL Cup.

Mauricio Pochettino was desperate for a win against Leicester on Saturday, and everything looked positive for Spurs when Vincent Janssen scored his first Premier League goal for the club, converting the penalty after being fouled by Robert Huth.

However, the Premier League champions hit back when Ahmed Musa turned home Jamie Vardy’s cross from close range, and whilst Jan Vertonghen hit the bar, Tottenham couldn’t find the equaliser.

Without Harry Kane, Spurs have lacked a major goal threat in the last few games, and their creative play has left a lot to be desired – starting with playmaker Christian Eriksen.

The Dane, 24, has been one of Tottenham’s key players ever since his 2013 move from Ajax, and penned a new four-year contract in September, worth £70,000-a-week according to Sky Sports.

However, Eriksen’s performances last season have been disappointing to say the least, and Tottenham fans tore into his display against Leicester City after the final whistle.

Supporters took to Twitter to suggest that Eriksen should be dropped from the starting line-up in favour of either Kane upon his return or even Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, whilst some questioned the decision to hand him that new contract.

The word ‘passenger’ was used on more than one occasion to describe Eriksen, whilst many fans were also outraged by the poor quality of Eriksen’s set pieces against Leicester too.
