So, according to the man himself, Emmanuel Adebayor will definitely be at Spurs next season.
The ‘agent’ who reportedly orchestrated talks is someone Adebayor has never heard of, he says, and he is ‘very happy’ to be at Tottenham. The 31-year-old also says he is looking forward to next season.
In response to the news, several Spurs supporters backed Adebayor and urged him to prove the doubters wrong.
They were in the minority.
Indeed, the lion’s share of reaction on social media to the Togolese forward’s post was not positive. Many Tottenham fans want Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy to sell the high-earning striker and don’t truly believe he has any chance of breaking back into the Spurs side with Harry Kane in the form of his life.
Who can blame them? Adebayor’s form was frustratingly bad last term, although he was troubled by personal and family issues. Once he’s put them aside, can the 31-year-old get back into the first-team picture at Tottenham?
