
Brentford have announced the first signing of Deadline Day in the form of Danish international and former Tottenham star Christian Eriksen.
The Bees announced on their official Twitter account that the playmaker will spend the rest of the season with the west London club just seven months after suffering a cardiac arrest at Euro 2020 with Denmark.
Since the horrific event, Eriksen has made a return to football to train with clubs in Switzerland, Denmark and the Netherlands. And now, the midfielder is fit and healthy enough to return to top-flight football.
Indeed, it would be an understatement to say that this transfer has been one of the most feel-good of the window, with many supporters from all over the world buzzing to see Eriksen back in football.
However, Tottenham fans are feeling the emotions this morning the most with Eriksen finally completing his move to Brentford.
The playmaker was one of the best players to play for Spurs in the Premier League era, with Eriksen playing a key role in Mauricio Pochettino’s side that reached the UEFA Champions League final and consisted top-four finishes in the Premier League.
And now, with Eriksen back in the Premier League with Brentford, Spurs fans are excited to see how the midfielder does for Thomas Frank’s side.
