Tottenham Hotspur supporters have hit out at Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments about the fixture schedule after Manchester United’s defeat to Roma last night to BT Sport.

United face an extremely busy period in the next week, where they face the prospect of playing four games in eight days.

And Solskjaer’s wasn’t particularly impressed with the scheduling.

“Its unheard of,” he said. “It’s made by people who’ve never played football at this level. It’s physically impossible for the players to do it. We’ve not been dealt a good hand.”

Unfortunately for the Norwegian boss Tottenham fans were quick to remind him that the situation, perhaps, wasn’t quite as unique as he thought.

Tottenham faced similarly difficulties early on in the season and they showed no signs of tiredness at the end of it all.

Tottenham finished their busy run of games off with a 6-1 win at Old Trafford.

And Spurs fans were quick to pick up on Solskjaer’s latest comments as a result.

In fairness to the United manager, Jose Mourinho, who was then Tottenham’s boss, also complained at the time about the gruelling nature of his side’s schedule.

It should also be noted that Tottenham’s players were handed four games in eight days far earlier in the season, when the players were fitter.

Solskjaer is going to have to rotate carefully though, especially with United having some tricky looking Premier League fixtures on the horizon.
