Harry Kane is having, yet another, ridiculously good season.

The England captain has netted 13 Premier League goals in 16 games, and if it weren’t for the fact that Erling Haaland is playing the most ridiculous football we’ve ever seen, he’d be the Premier League’s top scorer.

Kane has been brilliant for Spurs in front of goal this term, but there is one area where his game is lacking right now.

Indeed, the striker’s assists have dried up this season.

Kane has grabbed 23 assists over the last two seasons as his partnership with Heung-Min Son thrived, but he only has one league assist to his name so far this season.

What’s changed? Well, Kane hasn’t stopped creating dangerous chances, he’s averaging more key passes per game in the league than ever before, Son has just stopped scoring.

The South Korean has only scored three league goals this season – with all of those coming in the same game, and he’s looked way off the boil.

Not only has Son been scoring fewer goals himself, his poor form is also causing Kane’s numbers to dip.

We hate to say it, but it may soon be time to break-up the Premier League’s greatest power couple.

Indeed, it looks like Kane needs a new partner, and, in our view, the perfect reinforcement could be on the way – Harvey Barnes.

According to Football London, Fabio Paratici is a big fan of Barnes, and, in our view, he could be the perfect foil for Kane.

While Kane loves to drop deep and spray line-breaking balls, Barnes loves to use his pace, intelligence and positioning to get in behind defences and creating one-on-one situations with opposition goalkeepers.

Barnes’ finishing does leave a lot to be desired at times, but if you combine his movement with Kane’s vision you’re going to have a partnership that will combine to score buckets.

Barnes’ arrival could get Kane’s assist numbers back to where they should be.
