Speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website, Christian Eriksen has hailed West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster for his performance on Saturday.

Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by the Baggies at The Hawthorns yesterday afternoon.

Nacer Chadli came back to haunt his former club by netting an 82nd-minute goal which looked like being enough to deal Spurs their first Premier League defeat of the season.

But Dele Alli pounced with an equaliser in the dying stages as Mauricio Pochettino’s side remain unbeaten in eight league outings so far this season.

Before the late goals, however, there were plenty of goalscoring chances for the visitors, who ran into an inspired Foster on the day.

And the Danish playmaker has told Tottenham’s official website that the 33-year-old had a “very, very good game.”

He said: “He had one of those days. We had some chances and on another day they would have been goals. There were some great saves and that made it really, really difficult for us. He had a very, very good game.”

He did have an excellent game, but Tottenham could and probably should have still won. Perhaps they would have found a way through had Harry Kane been fit, but still. If Pochettino’s side lose the title this season by a couple of points then it’s games like this which will hurt Spurs that bit more.
