Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has stated that mental problems played a role in the club failing to win the Premier League last season.
Tottenham Hotspur are on their way to great things if they continue their current trajectory. With a top young manager and an outrageously talented squad, there seems to be no limit as to what they can do in terms of domestic competitions. Last season seemed like it would be the same, however a poor run towards the end of the campaign left Spurs with no title as well as once again finishing below rivals Arsenal. As reported by Daily Mail, when speaking to BBC’s Premier League Show Pochettino stated that ‘mental problems’ played a factor.

The North London side have been the talk of the league after their 2-0 victory over Manchester City which meant they are the only unbeaten team remaining in the division.
“I think it was an experience that we must learn from,” he said. “It wasn’t a physical problem, it was mental. When you lose focus, it is impossible to move your body.
“The most important thing is to try to translate the message that we always need to make sure we enjoy.

“I think we need to remember we started to play football when we were boys because we felt passion and emotion… to play football was an emotion.
“When you don’t have passion, when you don’t have energy, when you don’t have emotion, then you can lose how we lost the last few games of last season.”
Finishing the job off has always been something of an issue for Tottenham Hotspur, with Arsenal fans constantly reminding them of the occasions where they have overtaken their rivals in the league table late in the season.
