The Tottenham manager is not concerned about his rivals transfer spending.

Tottenham Hotspur have been typically deliberate in their transfer dealings this summer. The club have brought in just two players – Victor Wanyama and Vincent Janssen from Southampton and AZ Alkmaar respectively – for respectable fees.
Meanwhile the club’s around them in the title hunt, with the exception of Arsenal, have spent shedloads.

Manchester City have snapped up the likes of John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane at big prices. Chelsea splashed out on Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante. Liverpool have thrown money at Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane deals whilst Manchester United broke the world transfer record for Paul Pogba amid other big moves.
But Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is not fussed about these big money signings.

Speaking to the press ahead of the game with Everton this weekend the Argentine is quoted by ESPN as suggesting this only means the teams around Spurs are desperate:
“I’m not worried about that.
“When you spend a lot of money, it’s because you are worried about your squad and desperate to improve it.
“I’m very happy with my players and because of that I’m very quiet and relaxed. I trust my squad 100 percent.”

Tottenham boss Pochettino is clearly happy with the squad he has assembled. It also shows that he is ready to hand some opportunities to the younger players in the Tottenham squad.
It is doubtful Poch was trying his hand at mind games, that’s not his style. It is clear however that he is confident in his squad’s ability to thrive in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
