Tottenham Hotspur were at the centre of a number of rumours in the January transfer window, but perhaps their biggest victory was surrounding one rumour that didn’t surface this time around.

Indeed, while there was speculation around the likes of Adama Traore and Luis Diaz coming into the club and the likes of Japhet Tanganga and Steven Bergiwijn departing the club, there wasn’t a single credible story about Harry Kane looking to leave.

Cast your mind back to the summer. Kane was the main protagonist of the summer window, and it seemed as though he was doing everything he could to get out of Spurs.

Stories were leaking about Kane’s future on seemingly a daily basis in the summer, but in January, there was radio silence on that front, and that’s not a coincidence.

Don’t forget, transfer rumours are often drummed up by player’s agent or players themselves in order to attract more interest and to get a move away from their current club, but there was absolutely no speculation about Kane last month.

Kane is reportedly now very happy at Spurs under Antonio Conte, and the fact that he’s no longer making noise about wanting to leave goes to show just how satisfied he seemingly is now with life in north London.

With Fabrizio Romano now reporting that Tottenham want to give Kane a new contract, it seems as though Spurs needn’t worry about losing their talisman in the near future.

Antonio Conte, Fabio Paratici and Daniel Levy were the key figures for Spurs in the January window, but perhaps their biggest transfer victory was solely centred around Kane.
