Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly battling West Ham United for Victor Camarasa.

Victor Camarasa has been one of the shining lights in Cardiff City’s season this term, and he may well have a future in the Premier League.

The Spaniard found himself unwanted at Real Betis, leading to Cardiff taking him on loan for the season, and he’s made a real name for himself.

His fine goal against Chelsea on Sunday was his fifth strike of the season, whilst he’s also chipped in with three assists whilst always posing a threat from set pieces.

Whether Cardiff stay up or not, Camarasa is likely to move on elsewhere, and Marca now claim that Tottenham are battling West Ham United for his signature.

Betis are allegedly willing to sell for just €15million (£13million), and that could be the ideal move for Mauricio Pochettino, if they can pip West Ham and others to his signature.

Spurs shouldn’t view the Spaniard as a potential Christian Eriksen replacement; they need much better than Camarasa for that. Yet as a player to bring additional creativity from the bench without breaking the bank, he fits the bill perfectly.

Erik Lamela isn’t offering much this season, depriving Spurs of that other option to get on the ball, look up and create chances. Camarasa can do just that, as well as supplying set piece opportunities like Eriksen has.

Finding another playmaker in a cost-friendly move has to be a key for Spurs this summer, as too much is placed on Eriksen to be their sole creator at times, and Camarasa could at least take some of the weigh off his shoulders.

Spurs can offer European football, which may just help them beat West Ham, and whilst he isn’t a big name addition, he could be a smart, low-cost addition to Pochettino’s Tottenham side.
